Mark,

This is very useful as many UK freelancers might like to try out what it’s like living in Spain while continuing working with their non-Spanish clients. I do believe though that freelancers would still have to claim UK-based income but it’s fuzzy when it comes to IR35 if you are living abroad but working for UK clients.

If you are living in Spain are you meeting many British freelancers and if so are they choosing inside or outside IR35 opportunities?

“What is a Non-Lucrative Visa in Spain?
A non-lucrative residence visa is a unique type of residency permit in Spain for non-European citizens who would like to reside in Spain, but not carry out any economic and professional duties with companies in Spain. Remote working for UK or non-Spanish companies would be allowed.”

You quote myspainvisa.com, yet their website says this:

“The non lucrative visa is an entry permit to enter Spain for residence purposes without working, therefore with the NLV you cannot work anywhere, only live on savings or passive income such as dividends, pensions or rents. If you want to work remotely you can check the nomad digital visa in Spain.” However, the nomad digital visa hasn’t yet been passed into Spanish law.
